Sargassum Report

This report being used by the US Dept of State to come up with RFPs for more research on seaweed landings in the Caribbean. It was done over the course of the fall 2019 semester and many different classes worked on different aspects of the report. My role within this report was to work with a partner and research Sargassum's ability to absorb trace elements and trace heavy metals. We completed our section of the report while enrolled in the Environmental Pollution and Regulation course, ENVL 3241. Our final contributions within this report is listed under the sub-title "Challenges in commercial use of Sargassum".
The following Essential Learning Outcomes were addressed from this assignment: - Teamwork and Collaboration through working as a team on different sections of this report. Each sections team required strong communication in order to accomplish the task at hand. - Global Awareness through analyzing data produced by many different countries throughout the world. |
Nacote Creek & NERRS Report
I completed this report wile enrolled in the Environmental Pollution and Regulation course, ENVL 3241. The first part of this report consisted of going out on the Nacote creek and Mullica River to sample water quality parameters. After gathering water quality data, a report was created to display our findings. I gained valuable hands on experience through the process of using the sampling tools to obtain the data needed to create a report.
The following Essential Learning Outcomes were addressed from this assignment: - Program Competence through the use of ArcGIS to produce a map, and the use of excel to create graphs that were needed to properly display information. Also, in doing the field work for this report, I gained hands on experience with tools essential to my field of study. - Quantitative Reasoning through arranging and analyzing of thousands of data points in a manner that can be easily explained. |

Land Use Change In Middlesex County

This report focuses on land-use change within Middlesex county over the course of the 20 year span, 1995-2015. In order to complete this report, a strong understanding of ArcGis was required. This report was completed with a partner while enrolled in Environmental Issues, ENVL 4300.
The following Essential Learning Outcomes were addressed from this assignment: - Information Literacy and Research Skills through knowing what data/information to analyze in order to properly answer the question "How is land use changing within Middlesex County, NJ" - Program Competence through using ArcGIS to organize, display, and analyze the data downloaded from the internet. From there, data was downloaded to excel in order to produce charts and tables. |
A Review of Bioremediation & Gasoline Product Remediation
This report is an extremely in depth review of bioremediation, how it works, its components, and the roll it can play in remediating gasoline and gasoline related pollutants.
The following Essential Learning Outcomes were addressed from this assignment: - Information Literacy and Research Skills through researching many different types of bioremediation practices and reading many scholarly, peer reviewed articles to gain knowledge on the subject - Teamwork and Collaboration through working with a partner on different sections of this report. We did not rely on one another to understand each sections we worked on. Rather, we worked together on each section, using a combination of knowledge that we have both acquired. |
